Letter of the Day: H

Letter of the Day is H! Trey enjoyed some yummy food today: Hot dogs for lunch and Hawaiian Chicken for dinner. Our focus words of the day were: Hand, Helper, and Hot. Today's Bible Story was about Jesus Healing the sick.

Today was a Daddy morning while Mommy was working. Trey decided to "Help Daddy" with his bedroom remodel by helping fix a cabinet door on his bed. He loves being a helper!

Today's art activity was in the bath tub playing with shaving cream! Trey enjoyed making "Hand prints" with shaving cream on the bath tub wall. It took us forever to get him out of the bathtub and ready for bed.

This is the start of Trey's new sports bedroom. You can see his golf "hole" for his bedroom. He wanted to do the flash card game by his painted golf wall that Grammy did earlier today. We love it! Amazing work by Grammy! More pictures to come soon of his new big boy room!

G is for Garbage Truck

Our letter of the day is G. We didn't do great planning food options for the letter G with our busy schedule today. He had grapes, graham crackers, and gum today.

Trey loves Garbage Trucks so we made a garbage truck out of paper and added some tissue paper trash. He also read Trashy Town a new favorite book from the library.

Since Trey loves golf like his daddy, he decided to make a course in the living room because it is still too wet to play outside. He had his baseball helmet playing golf because we were watching the Reds on TV  We can't wait to watch him play Putt Putt Golf in Florida in a few days!

F is for Fireworks

This was truly a fun Saturday because we were able to go out for some errands and go to a Kannapolis Intimidators Baseball Game to watch Fireworks. We enjoyed eating French Fries, Fruit, and Fudge stripe cookies for dinner. Our focus words of the day were Firefighter, fish, and flag.

Our art project of the day was making a fish out of tissue paper and glue. I love tissue paper crafts to work on fine motor skills at school and to practice using small amounts of glue. While I made dinner, Trey focused and worked on his art project. He even suggested that we add water under the fish with blue tissue paper. ( I still find it funny that I still have at least 20 shades of blue tissue paper from baby showers 4 years ago...great project to reuse some tissue paper.) We decided to tape the picture on the glass sliding door because it looked like a sun catcher.

At the end of the day we headed to the stadium to watch some baseball and fireworks. When we arrived to the game daddy had just finished selling tickets and was able to join us to watch the game. After the game we enjoyed watching fireworks...or at least mom and dad enjoyed fireworks. Trey was not happy about the lights going out at the stadium and the sound of the fire works which he referred to as thunder. We made it through the fireworks but he was not excited like last year.

E is for Everything

Today was a busy day and we honestly were not very creative with our letter E. Trey started his morning breakfast with Eggs to eat! We were going to have enchiladas for dinner but decided to have something different. The vocabulary words of the day were eggs, empty, and engines.

The story of the day was a favorite of The Chapman House: Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss.

D is for Doughnuts

Today by far was our favorite Day so far... Letter D day! D is for Doughnuts! Today's art project involved making dots using a dot art marker while mommy and daddy made dinner. Today's vocabulary words were Doughnut, Dad, and Drink. Today's Bible story was the story of Daniel in the Lions Den which is favorite for Trey and most little boys.

Daddy had a fun game to play with Trey using DIMES... Dime Drop. The object was to drop dimes into a container. Trey thought it was fun and then he disappeared with his dimes to add them to his piggy bank!

Today we took a field trip to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts in Salisbury, NC to see the Hot now sign for some yummy doughnuts. This was our 1st trip as a family to Krispy Kreme and it will not be our last. Trey enjoyed looking at all the doughnuts, watching doughnuts be made, and getting to eat a doughnut. A perfect dessert to end a perfect summer DAY!
